Susan Unsuk Goelz is a Middle Eastern dance performer who has studied Egyptian Oriental, Tribal Fusion, ATS (American Tribal Style), Rajasthani (India Folk dance), and Korean Traditional Fan Dance. She serves as a part-time instructor at the Community College of AlleghenyCounty (South Campus) in Pittsburgh. She performs as often as possible at Pittsburgh-area shows, and she was honored to perform her Korean fan dance at the Asian & American Film Festibal “Silk Screen Red Carpet Gala” in 2010 and the “Japan Ganbare Nippon Benefit Concert in 2011. In addition to performing, she designs belly dance costumes.

In addition to studying belly dance with Pittsburgh-area instructors Bee Bargo, Olivia Kissel, and Carenza Bint Asya, she has taken numerous seminars with many of the world’s reowned bellydancers and instructors, including Tamalyn Dallal, Iva Cernic, Amar Garmal, Sherena Hendrix, Artmis Mourat, Karim Nagi, Aladin El Kloy, Atef Hassan, Lisa Zahiya, Zill Parker, Tamera Juel, Mardi Love, Kami Liddle, Ava Fleming, Sadie Marquardt, Velizan. She is also looking forward to her upcoming workshops with Rachael Brice in May 2011.

Our "SIZZLING SUMMER CLASSES" for children are awesome! Creative Movement 2-4 yrs old, Dance Medley 5-8 yrs old, Dance and Dazzle 9-12yrs old AND Ballet for Teens (Pointe too).

I had a sad/happy phone call today... One of my baby ballet girls, 2.5 yrs old is leaving us do to Dad's job transfer. On a happier note, Dad wants to make sure she continues in a school that teaches Classical Ballet...he knows the difference and let me say this....she clearly has potential as well as the 'ballet bug' within! :-)
I'll miss her; yet feel proud to have been a part of her first ballet experience!

Thinking ahead to tomorrow's class, I am bringing my pointe shoes for "show and tell" ! This will be a good way to learn what style best suites your foot for pointe class coming soon. If anyone else has a pair, bring them with you.
